Are you ready to enter Sherwood Forest for the 2009 Fall Cuboree!?!?!
It’s going to be a fantastic time out in the woods, under the stars, hanging out with a thousand of your closest friends.
There is a MANDATORY conference call on Tuesday night, October 6 at 8:00 p.m. Each Pack must have one representative on the call for final details. Dial in information: 866 225 2612 ID 7978720. Lack of attendance will earn you the worst clean-up assignments.
As we close in on the weekend, I have attached camp details (
Camp
Details) as they currently stand. I have tried to accommodate requests for specific campsites where possible, but please understand that there are only so many spots to land people.
I am still in desperate need of medical volunteers – if you have anyone with medical training (EMT, M.D., R.N., G.P., N.P., D.D.S., you get the idea) who can help cover a shift or two being on “stand-by” with cell phones or walkie talkies, I would greatly appreciate it.
I have attached my most recent volunteer summary (
Volunteer
Summary) – I can definitely use some additional range masters and I have a host of volunteer needs outlined. I don’t want to go through and add up the number of volunteers from each Pack and “tax” folks for volunteers (boy…I could be the Sherriff of Nottingham), so please poll your Pack and let me know where you can help.
A note on the give-aways….we’ll be giving each attendee a plastic cup, a set of juggling balls and a patch. Please let me know how many “recruiter” patches your Pack needs (i.e. how many of your Scouts invited a friend to the Pack/Cuboree) – it’s a nice add-on patch over the main event patch. We’ll hand out the cups and balls at check-in; PLEASE don’t distribute the balls until people are leaving on Sunday – I can just see 3,000 missiles all over the camp. Also, the Cubs (as opposed to the Webelos) will be making Bows at the craft station – we ask that Pack leadership hold onto those until Scouts are leaving so we don’t have any accidents either.
If you think you’re going to need any gear (tents, cooking equipment, Dutch Ovens, etc.) please try to let us know ahead of time so we can reserve it for you – there is only a limited amount of loaner gear available. Gear must be returned cleaned and ready for storage (so if you borrow a tent and it rains, you need to get it dried out and returned). I’ve included our Pack Camping checklist – it gives you a sense of what we send out – I’m sure there are things we’re missing, but it’s a start.

Checklist
The Webelos events will be less “competition” and more “learning” – we have attached the updated event descriptions for your review.
There are some downed trees around the campsite and you can forage for firewood in the brush, but no chainsaws are allowed at Belk. You might consider bringing some “backup wood” just in case.
I’m attaching the excel file that we’ve been using to capture all of our plans. If you want more information on any of the details that we have been managing – you should be able to find it here.
Cuboree
Details. I’ll be updating the duty assignments as we get more volunteers.
We’re doing our best to make sure this is a safe and fun event for all of the Packs involved. If you have any suggestions on ways to improve or change things, please let me know and I will bring them to the team.
